Looking after the pet

Source

The idea

Pet-care records and routine schedules fragment across changing providers; owners manually coordinate food, grooming, vaccination and visits. Source-proposed direction: Family-controlled care history plus routine service and supply coordination.

Why this is interesting

  • Pet care crosses veterinary, grooming, boarding and retail providers, but the owner remains responsible for carrying the history between them.
  • Routine care is predictable enough to coordinate, while urgent care makes accurate records and trusted provider access more valuable.
  • A family-controlled record could remain useful even when providers change, but it must avoid presenting administrative guidance as veterinary advice.

Possible starting points

01

Portable pet care record

Keep vaccinations, prescriptions, conditions and provider notes under the family’s control.

02

Routine care coordinator

Combine reminders, booking and supplies for vaccinations, grooming and preventive care.

03

Care handoff for boarding

Share current routines, medicines and emergency contacts with a temporary caregiver.

Questions to answer

  1. Which missing record or missed routine most often creates a costly problem?
  2. Will veterinary practices participate, or must the product begin with owner-entered records?
  3. Which recurring service can support a viable acquisition and retention loop?
