Renting a home

The idea
Tenants and small landlords coordinate search, agreements, repairs, rent and renewals through fragmented conversations and repeated follow-ups. Source-proposed direction: Tenancy lifecycle coordination with an explicit choice of whose interests the service represents.
Why this is interesting
- Renting is a long-running relationship disguised as a one-time transaction. Search, documentation, payments, repairs and renewal all involve the same parties.
- Most coordination happens in messages and calls, leaving weak records when expectations differ or responsibility is disputed.
- A product must clearly choose whether it serves tenants, landlords or both because their interests are not always aligned.
Possible starting points
Tenant-side home record
Keep the agreement, inventory, deposits, repair requests and payment evidence in one timeline.
Small-landlord operations
Coordinate rent, maintenance and renewals for owners with a handful of properties.
Repair accountability workflow
Capture an issue, agree responsibility, arrange service and document completion.
Questions to answer
- Which recurring tenancy task creates the greatest conflict or wasted time?
- Who controls adoption when both tenant and landlord must participate?
- Which records have practical value during renewal, deposit return or dispute resolution?
