Universal Programming Kit

Source

Source summary

Develop one programming kit that works across radio makes and models. The aim is to replace the separate kits currently needed for different radio sets; the source does not identify particular supported manufacturers or interface specifications.

Innovative decision support system DSS for analysis of unstructured database

The Directorate of Intelligence receives large volumes of repeated structured and unstructured reports, including documents, images, maps and internet material, and wants an IAF decision-support system that reduces manual review. The server-client system should work on an internal network isolated from the internet, understand defence terminology, support change, temporal and predictive analysis, and present geo-visualised findings and reports in IAF or user-defined formats. Development is to occur on IAF premises, with redundancy, scalability and periodic upgrades, and the source says the software, database, hardware and source-code rights should remain with the IAF.

Tethered drone mounted B/FWS antenna for extended coverage area

Field Wireless System nodes on mobile platforms use retractable masts of up to 18 metres, leaving terrain and structure-related coverage shadows. The challenge proposes carrying FWS antennas or gNodeB components on a tethered drone at about 100 metres to extend coverage without degrading throughput at the cell edge.

No. 577Problem statementSoftware and AI

To design and develop a road mobile tethered aerostat system with radar and communication relay for 80-120km coverage.

The challenge asks for a road-mobile tethered aerostat, or similar elevated platform, carrying radar and radio-relay equipment to extend low-level coverage. It must move over rugged high-altitude terrain, deploy and recover in under two hours with a small crew, withstand specified winds and weather, warn of hazards, preserve operation after limited damage, and provide interface documents and modules so the Indian Air Force can integrate and expand it without vendor lock-in. Detailed surveillance, radio and deployment parameters are omitted here.
