IP-led media platforms

The idea
Develop repeatable paths to successful content.
Why this is interesting
- The third prediction argues that any content platform must show a path to producing a hit or building on existing intellectual property, because distribution can only be bought or engineered so far. It says a platform has to work on supply and demand together until something succeeds.
- The essay uses large media companies as illustration, which is evidence that hits matter, not that a new platform can produce them reliably. The entry is portable. Its earlier context names Indian audio, comic and gaming platforms developing new IP, but those are existing businesses, not proof of open space.
Possible starting points
Early signals for one story format
Help a platform identify which serialised stories or characters gain repeat audience early, for one format and language.
Adapting proven IP across formats
Take stories that have already found an audience in one format and test them in another.
Questions to answer
- Can a platform predict a hit before spending heavily on it, or only recognise one afterwards?
- Who owns the IP that results, and does that ownership make the creator or the platform the customer?
