Indigenous Design & Prototype Development of Hovercraft for Military Operations.

Source

Source summary

GRSE and a domestic partner propose an indigenous hovercraft prototype for the Indian Coast Guard and Army, reducing reliance on foreign design, equipment and maintenance. The vehicle is intended for coastal and shallow-water patrol, rescue, logistics, relief and pollution-control work across sand, marsh, mud, ice and open water without dedicated docks. The official specification calls for a substantial military air-cushion vehicle with at least 20 tonnes of payload, 12 hours' endurance, long coastal range, operation in rough sea states, a 20-year service life, at least 50 percent indigenous content and recognised class certification. Detailed interception and military performance parameters are omitted here.
